What is "integrative fitness"? At CIFW, "integrative fitness" means having a fitness program that not only makes you stronger and more aerobically fit, it also includes exercises and mindsets that improve posture, breathing patterns, alignment, and efficiency of movement. It means utilizing core principles and a disciplined practice to master the skill of moving better with decreased stress and better performance. With an extensive musculoskeletal evaluation of the whole body that goes beyond the standard measures of aerobic fitness, strength, an "integrative fitness" professional will also assess flexibility and stability in all the joints and muscles in the body, with special attention to posture, mobility, balance skills, core strength, and motor skills so as to bring a greater level of individualization and effectiveness to your program. Real "integrative fitness" instructors have mastered several disciplines and have an extensive toolkit to draw from to correct imbalances in the body, address injury restrictions, and fill the holes in your fitness program so you can finally attain your goals. This methodology includes unique functional awareness exercises, progressive calisthenics, imagery, corrective exercise, and whole body exercises that have been proven to improve performance and translates to better overall healthy living. Integrative training at CIFW is truly the new paradigm in fitness, and is symbiotic with an inclusive, nonjudgemental philosophy that welcomes all to better health and wellness.
